Social D. The worst
I have been a fan of The Doo Wop Project since 1982. Always in small venues like CBGB and the Ritz, and others, I have seen them more times than I can count. I had no idea how big the place was. Never have I seen them in a venue as big as the Stone Pony Summer Stage. I was with my wife and son, and none of us could see any of what was going on on stage. We were a city block away from the stage, with no hope of getting any closer, as the place was packed so tight that even standing as far back as we were, we were still packed in like sardines. The sound was better on the boardwalk. We would have been better off sitting on the boardwalk and listening to the show than paying to go inside. We would have seen just as much, which was nothing of the band. I had a good view of the top of the band's backdrop. As far as the band, I was a bit disappointed that they only did stuff off of the one album. They could have filled that with anything off of Mommy's Little Monster. Did you really need to do a 15-minute jam where Mike even said it was about buying time? All in all, it was without a doubt the worst show I have been to in my life.
